Closing of Red Creek?

Has anyone heard that George County is debating on closing Red Creek Offroad? Red Creek's profile on MySpace has put out a bulletin about it. It says that the neighbors of Red Creek are passing around petitions trying to get it closed. Red Creek is asking everyone to email them a letter telling them how much you would miss it and that its a safe place to ride. Also include your first and last name along with your City and State to Missy@redcreekoffroad.com

I hope this isnt true, dont want them to close down that place, so lets try and help them out.

Me too, I'd like to make it out there to ride sometime.

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to matter how many people send in letters saying they like the park. The only thing that’s going to matter to the County/State is what the people who have to live around it think. If it’s a general consensus that the people around there don’t want it there, then they will most likely close it.

I don’t agree with the closing of ATV parks, but I will say that I would not like something like RCOR across from my house. I could only imagine how hard it is to sleep at night with ATV’s running up and down the road at WOT all night. I guess some of the bottom line is that it’s not just the park; it’s probably a lot to do with people who won’t obey rules like not riding on the road. Also probably has a lot to do with people drinking and driving. I have a 2 year old daughter and I honestly would be scared to death to live around RCOR…the thought of her running out to the road and getting ran over by someone who was drinking and driving on an ATV would scare the crap out of me.
